Systems Engineer

Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot EGN’s network and infrastructure setup in Bay Area, the U.S., Switzerland, and Germany; in charge of network build operations and security into new U.S. and foreign markets as EGN’s network expands; use networking technologies (routers, switches, firewalls); oversee and perform reviews of specifications, schematics, layouts, test plans, and results;  work with large-scale datacenters with multi-vendor networks (Telia, NTT,HE, GTT, Cogent); provide Tier 3 support to customers; roll out new server technologies and automation system to provide EGN with increased efficiency and customer service; integrate and deploy new routers, switches, fiber connections, new routing technologies; work on redundant infrastructure systems; manage, monitor, secure, and maintain EGN’s core routers and switches and internal systems; manage EGN’s directly owned and leased IPv4 and IPv6 space (IP allocations, SWIP); install and configure new network hardware in various data centers; maintain and deploy new routing and switch systems for physical and cloud; plan infrastructure maintenance; manage/maintain all physical/virtual/cloud instances (VMware, Openstack, Zen, KVM, VPS, Windows 2003/2008/2010/2012/ Linux, Debian, FreeBSD, CentOS, RedHat/Bird, WHMCS) perform detailed database management (MySQL, SQL, noSQL); perform security logging and mitigation; and deal with breaches/malware/attacks into network and/or system.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Cyber Security or Computer Engineering plus 1 year experience. Experience to include using networking technologies (routers, switches, firewalls); overseeing/performing reviews of specifications, schematics, layouts, test plans, and results;  and working with large-scale datacenters with multi-vendor networks (NTT,HE, GTT, Cogent).
